It is with pleasure that, as General Chairman, I welcome you to Cooperstown's Diamond Jubilee celebration. Much work and planning has gone into the preparation of a program which we feel will be pleasantly reminiscent and entertaining. To our forebears who brought civilization to this new land may this observance of Cooperstown's 75th birthday be a fitting tribute to the rugged men and women who came before us. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many folks who spent so much time and effort in helping to make this celebration a success. An undertaking such as this s rev[could not possibly be presented without the aid and cooperation of the entire community.

Myrtle Porterville
The daughter of an early pioneer herself, Mrs. Porterville has devoted many years of her life to the collecting of early day history of the area. Much of her data has found its way into North Dakota history studies at some of our colleges of higher learning. Few counties have as complete a record of the early days due to efforts.
