In the Spring of 1930, members of Northern Light Chapter No. 49, OES decided to sponsor an order of Rainbow for Girls. An advisory board was appointed, consisting of: Helga Thompson, Myrtle Porterville, Florence Thompson, Irene Hammer, Jannette Costello, Bertha Langford, Oscar Thompson, Dr. M.D. Westley and Myrtle Hammer. The first meeting was held on January 17, 1931 with twenty three members: Margaret Houghton (Nierenberg) first Worthy Advisor, Eleanor Thompson, Judith Qualey, Berniece Nelson, Marguerite Paulsberg Lucille Brown, Thelma Johnson, Grace Anderson Marian Sorvik, Carol Lunde, Norma Bonewell, Ruth Cardin, Charlotte Mathison, Mildred Hetager, Betty Brimi, Adele Gaulke, Marian Marquardt, Maria Arneson, Ellen Dorothy Olson, Bernice Langford, Joyce Pfeifer, Doris Solberg, Kathryn Irgens.
