Township Organization

Melville became a Civil township on April 6, 1907.

Officers were:

J.W. Shearer, clerk

George Balding,

George Ackerman, and Frank Thurston, supervisors

Road supervisors were Edwin Thorson and John Henry.

Many farms were given special names. Here are some with their owners in 1910 and the present owners.
