Cornelius Venhuizen

Cornelius Venhuizen, son of Ralph and Jantze Boeze Venhuizen, was born at Baflo, Netherlands, November 17, 1888.  He came to the United States when 7 years old and lived in Fulton, Illinois before coming to North Dakota.  They were members of the Dover Reformed Church until it closed.

Cornelius married Stella Rose, daughter of Herman Rose of Fenton, Illinois, on December 24, 1918.  After coming to North Dakota they lived in the Courtney, Wimbledon and Hannaford Communities and Bartley Township.  Four children were born:

  1. Herman in 1919 and died in 1952.  
  2. Ralph, farms at Wimbledon and is married to Laurel Fluetsch.  They have five children:  
    1. Holly (Mrs. Harvey Cain)
    2. Joanne (Mrs. Pat Fielder)
    3. Carol
    4. Randy
    5. Scott
  3. Minnie married Kasper Severson and they have four children: 
    1. Howard, married to Dianne Paasch
    2. Darlene
    3. Kelly
    4. Dawn  
    They farm at Wimbledon.
  4. Eugene married Ruth Vos and they have two children: 
    1. Robert 
    2. Michael
    They farm at Hannaford.

Cornelius passed away February 1950 and Stella October 1972.
