John T. Arlien

Pekin, North Dakota

is a farmer. He was born in Lillehammer on July 17, 1867 and emigrated to America as a three year old boy. His father, Thore T. Arlien, and his mother, Anna Snakhoel, were both from Gudbrandsdoler. They came over to America in 1864 to Spring Grove, Minnesota. They are both dead. He came to Pekin, North Dakota 1883 and has lived there since as a farmer.

He has been married two times. His first wife, Marie Raaen, was from Trondelagen. She died in 1904. His second wife, Marie Simensen, is from Lillehammer. He has seven children. Edwin Arlien is on the farm. Tilda is married to George Valhoel who is a farmer near Pekin, North Dakota. The remaining children are home on the farm.
