C. P. Bolkan

Cooperstown, North Dakota

is a farmer. He was born in Stjordalen on September 28, 1854 and emigrated to America in 1866 to Rock County, Wisconsin. He lived there for nine years and then in Northwood, Iowa for five years. He came to Griggs County in 1880 and took a homestead near Cooperstown, North Dakota where he now lives.

His wife, Karoline Spilde, was born in America of Norwegian parents in Iowa. They were from Hardanger. They have eight sons, of which six are in Cooperstown, North Dakota. Ed. Bolkan is deputy Register of Deeds in Griggs County. Rudolf has a homestead at Fort Berthold Reservation, North Dakota.
