Thompson, North Dakota
was born in Torpe, Hallingdal on February 9, 1852. His father's Name was Ole Halstensen Braaten and his mother’s name was Ambjorg Olsen. He came to America in 1856. He attended St. Olaf School from 1874 to 1875, Luther College from 1875 to 1881, (A. B.) and Luther Seminar from 1881 to 1884 (C. T.). He has been a Priest in Thompson, North Dakota since 1884. He was the author of several hymns in Lanstads Hymn Book of 1892 - 1893. He was ordinationed in 1912 - 13. He married Ambjorg Olsen Kvelprud in 1884.
