C. O. Broger

Portland, North Dakota

was born in Hedalen at Gaarden Broger on March 7, 1853. He emigrated to America in 1869 to Arena, Wisconsin. He was there for four years at the mill. He moved to Iowa County, Wisconsin and lived there until 1883, and then he came to Portland, North Dakota where he was farmer until 1908 when he became the elevator manager.

His wife, Kristine Thompson, was born in America of Norwegian parents who were from Baegnadalen. They are both dead. They have two children. Their son, William, is at home. Their daughter, Clarissa, is a student at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
