Oluf Ericksen

Sharon, North Dakota

is a farmer. He was born in Drammen on February 9, 1862. He emigrated 36 years ago to Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin and has spent the last 17 years living in Westfield Township, Steel County, North Dakota six miles from Sharon, North Dakota

His wife, Petrine E. Viseth, is from Sondmore, from Waxvik region and emigrated to America to Mayville 24 years ago. They were married in 1895 and have four children, three daughters and one son.

Carl Westre and his three squires went on an automobile trip from Mayville, Bernt and John Solid later wrote down that when Sunday came they were entertained with extra nice Rommegrod. Two daughters played and sang fine Norwegian songs. There were beautiful flowers in the windows of their nice hospitable home. You know the people who reside there are really good Norwegian people. Carl Westre’s beloved little boy, Clarence, was with them. He is a healthy and lively little boy who, with enough time, will also become a good auto chauffeur like his father who is a "Name Guesser" as thus.

Ericksen has a large, beautiful farm with one half section of good Land. His daughter Karoline graduated from Oak Grove Ladys Seminar and holds Norwegian School and can play and sing very well and is an instructor in Norwegian song and music.
