Mayville, North Dakota
was born in Leikanger on August 15, 1868 and emigrated to America in May 1888 to Morrisonville, Wisconsin and was there for seven years. He came to Mayville, North Dakota in 1895 and has lived there since. He was a Postmaster for four years, from 1912 to 1916.
His wife, Sara Johansen, was born in America of Norwegian parents. They were both from Sogn. They have three children.
