Johan Koloen

Nome, North Dakota

was born in Fitjar, ten miles south ofr Bergen, and emigrated to America in 1902. He has lived in Nome for twelve years as a painter and decorator.

His wife Ida was born in Troiaderaet. Her father, Anders Knudsen, lives in Canby, Minnesota. In a blizzard Helland-Karerne operated as a furniture maker and delivered fine cabinets, writing desks and others useful things. Koloen is not so little of a carver and waited to get paint and decorative carpentry work.
