Pastor R. A. Lavik

Milnor, North Dakota

was born in Eksingedalen, Osteroen near Bergen on October 15, 1841. His father's Name was Anders Lavik and his mother’s name was Dordei Knutsen Lillejord. He attended Stords Seminar from 1861 to 1863. He was a teacher at Laerdalskirens public school from 1863 to 1871. He came to America in 1871. He was a teacher and bell ringer in Lands Parish in Goodhue County, Minnesota from 1871 to 1886. He attended Northfield Seminar from 1887 to 1888 (C. T). He was a priest in Devils Lake, North Dakota in 1888; in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota from 1889 to 1892 and in Milnor, North Dakota from 1892 to 1913. He was a visiting priest from 1902 to 1905 and was the fellowship director from 1906 to 1911.

He married Ingeborg Tuff in 1873. She died in 1886. He married a second time to Antonetta Hagen in 1889.
