Pekin, North Dakota

is the treasurer of the bank of Pekin, North Dakota. He was born on December 5, 1879 in Goodhue County, Minnesota. His father, Arnt Andersen Sorlie, is from Meraker and his mother, Beret P. Hjelmstadbakken, is from Skogn. They came over to America in 1866. They came to Grand Forks County North Dakota in 1881 and took a homestead there. His father died in 1891 and his mother in 1914. He grew up on the homestead farm. He came to Pekin, North Dakota in 1900. For a while he was an accountant in the Gronnas Bank in Brocket, North Dakota.

His wife, Lilly Grimsrud, was born in America of Norwegian parents from Gudbrandsdalen.

He has been the auditor in Pekin, North Dakota and is a capable and public spirited Man.
