John Marlen

Stanly, North Dakota

is a farmer. He was born in Marken in Vaerdalen and emigrated to America in 1881. He settled as a farmer with Vining, Ottertail County. He came to Mountrail County, North Dakota in 1902 and was the first Norwegian to settle in Parshall Township and lives there at this time on his homestead. Of public Gjoremaal have he has functioned as a vice chairman of the town, and recently he has become the owner of an automobile and will now surely do his best to get good road contracts. (O.R.)
