Knut Sivertsen Moen

Aneta, North Dakota

was born in Aal on March 27, 1849 and emigrated to America in 1881 to Hillsboro, North Dakota. He moved to Griggs County North Dakota in 1882 where he took a homestead and lived there the entire time since until he moved to Aneta seven years ago. He has a farm three miles from Aneta.

Moen was in Norway in 1893 and 1914 and saw for himself again much of the country where he had previously traveled around a lot.

His wife, Sidsel B. Ødegaard, is also from Aal. They have three children. The oldest son, Siver Moen, operates the farm. The other son, Karl Moen, is a farmer in Hettinger, North Dakota. Their daughter Berthine is at home. They have a very good home with flowers and other signs that it is good Norwegian people who live there.
