Hastings, North Dakota
is the bank treasurer. His father, Kjetel Brandbu, is from Telemarken and his mother, Julia Hagen, were from Gudbrandsdalen. He was a former publisher of the "Hastings Times", which the people great haled. The newspaper has a good editor, as it hardly ever has any errors, but he is not a Norwegian and consequently not from any region and he was not willing to have something written about him in this book.
