Halfdan Petersen

Finley, North Dakota

was born in Bergen on June 17, 1870 and emigrated to America in 1887 to Indiana. He moved to New York and lived there for 1 1/2 years. He came to Steele County, North Dakota in 1894 and took a homestead near Aneta, North Dakota. He has had the Coal and Wood business in Finley, North Dakota since 1906.

His wife, Betzie Pederson, was born in Minnesota of Norwegian parents. Her father is dead and her mother Mrs. M. Pederson lives with them. They have seven children.
