Elling Stoa

Buxton, North Dakota

is a farmer in Wold Township. He was born in Viker in Aadalen on October 6, 1855 and emigrated to America in 1877 to Albert Lea, Minnesota. He came to Traill County in 1879 and took a homestead in Wold Township and lives on the farm at this time.

He has been married two times. His first wife, Kristi Jemterud, from Aadalen died in 1895. His second wife, Ida Eriksen, was born in America of Norwegian parents in Scandinavia, Wisconsin They are both dead, likewise his parents. They had 18 children, of which 14 are living. Two of his sons have their own farm. One of his sons is at the Agricultural College in Fargo, North Dakota.
