Pekin, North Dakota
was born on June 28, 1859, in Bo and emigrated to America in 1867. His father, Engerret Paulsen Vrem, and his mother, Aslaug Gaarder, came to Dodge County, Minnesota. They moved from there to Chippewa County Minnesota and moved in 1881 to Nelson County and took a homestead in Bergen Township and are there at this time.
His wife, Lina Halsten, was a Norwegian-American woman. She died 16 years ago.
