In order to lay to rest all the erroneous information which is "out there" on this family, I have compiled this family group from census records, marriage licenses, death certificates, cemetery records, church records and information from descendants (I am descended from Prudency):

1. Sophia Taylor b. 1794, probably Columbia Co., NY (Spencertown or Hillsdale). m. 20 Jan 1820 - Cuyahoga Co., OH Gaius Burk(e) from MA. Sophia d. 27 Jun 1859, Newburg Twp., Cuyahoga Co., NY

2. Elisha Taylor, b. 1796, prob Columbia Co., NY m. 7 Oct 1818, Cuyahoga Co., OH Delia Foote from Lee, Berkshire Co., MA. He married second 28 Mar 1825 Elizabeth Drury. Elisha died in Cleveland, OH in 1874

3. Wealthy Taylor, b. 1798, either Columbia or Lewis Co., NY m. 2 Feb 1820 Cuyahoga Co., OH, Josiah Willard, and m. second before 1840, James McKay. Last found in the 1850 census as widow Wealthy McKay living with Gaius and Sophia Burke.

4. Prudency Taylor, b. Feb 1800, Lewis Co., NY, m. 21 Feb 1817 Barzilla Banister Burk(e), brother of Gauis Burk and Rev. War Vet from MA. Prudency died 13 Jan 1873, Newburg Twp, Cuyahoga Co, OH, ae 72y 11m. She is buried in Harvard Grove Cemetery, Cleveland, OH.

5. Amanda Taylor, b. 1802 Lewis or Jefferson Co., NY, m. first 30 Jane 1819, Cuyahoga Co., OH, James Hyndman. She married second 28 Nov 1825 Cuyahoga Co., OH, Harry S. Hanford. Amanda d. before 1850 probably in Waterville, Lucas Co., OH

6. John D. Taylor, b. 22 Aug 1804, probably Lewis Co., NY, m. 5 Sep 1824 Laura Foote, sister of Delia (wife of Elisha). John D. d. 1 Oct 1893, Delphos, Allen Co., OH. He is buried in the West Side Cem, Delphos, Van Wert Co., OH

7. Lovica Taylor, b. 10 Mar 1807, Cuyahoga Co., OH, m. 3 Oct 1827 probably Lewis Co., NY, Morris Hartwell. Lovica d. 14 Feb 1864 in Denmark, Lewis Co., NY.

8. Egbert Taylor, b. 14 Dec 1809, Rockport (Lakewood/Westlake) Cuyahoga Co., OH and married first 2 May 1833 Cuyahoga Co., OH Angelina Cleveland; he m. second 16 Jul 1837 Cuyahoga Co., OH, Hortensia Cleveland. He married third 8 Oct 1842, Cass Co., MI, Lucina Bennett and married fourth 14 Oct 1852 St Joseph Co., IN Lydia Elizabeth Andrews. Egbert d. 26 Mar 1899 North Liberty, St. Joseph Co., IN.

9. Charles Ralph Taylor, b. abt 31 Oct 1811 Cleveland, OH, m. 21 Aug 1844, St. Antoinne's Church, River Raisin, Monroe Co., MI Rose Emily Godfroid. He died 12 Jan 1891 Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MI. He is buried in St. Andrews Cem, Grand Rapids, Kent Co., MI

10. Harvey M. Taylor, b. prob. July 1814, Cleveland, OH, m. Medina Co., OH 2 Apr 1840 Martha Horton. Harvey d. 28 Nov 1880 and is buried at Lake View Cem. in Cleveland, OH.

11. Julia Ann Taylor, b. 1816 Cuyahoga Co., OH. She married 28 May 1840, Cass Co., MI, James Hartwell, probably a brother of Morris above (husband of Lovica) I have not found anything further of her and would be interested in hearing from any of her descendants.

Zerviah d. 25 Sep 1823 and was buried in the Erie St. Cemetery which is still there, but most of the headstones are gone and many of the people have been moved to other cemeteries.

Philo d. 9 Mar 1854 (in his 85th yr) and probably was also buried in the Erie St., Cem.
